WINTER SKILLS COURSES IN THE CAIRNGORMS
New for 2012. Join the Outdoor Hub to learn the basic skills needed to get out on Britain's mountains in full winter conditions. We have engaged legendary IFMGA guide Smiler Cuthbertson to deliver your course. Smiler has a vast wealth of mountaineering, guiding and teaching experience. His climbing career started in the 1960s becoming a leading light of the Welsh Tremadog/Eric's Cafe scene in the '70s. He went on to climb all over the world - Alps, Andes, Rockies, Yosemite, Himalaya the list goes on...........
These days Smiler splits his time between guiding in the Alps during the summer and the Scotish Highlands in the winter. On top of this amazing CV Smiler is a wonderful character and great companion to spend time with in the mountains.
The Outdoor Hub will be joining Smiler in February/March 2012. As well as a three day introduction to winter mountaineering you will have four nights in a quality bunkhouse with breakfast and packed lunch provided. Evening meals can be cooked in the digs or local pub and hotel provide quality food.
The last few years have provided splendid conditions for British winter mountaineering and the Caringorms have consistently provided our best UK conditions over the years.
